# 47-48 CANAL STREETCAR ~ Rider Alert
Effective Monday, July 6, 2009, the inbound and outbound routes of the #47-48 Canal Streetcar will be shut down for 8 weeks.
The RTA is replacing feeder cables underground that were damaged during Hurricane Katrina. RTA Buses will run the regular Canal route. Customers will need to board the bus on the sidewalks.
