The hosts of ESPN’s Pardon The Interruption Michael Wilbon and Tony Kornheiser said that the Hornets should 100 percent NOT stay in New Orleans.

“In post-Katrina New Orleans the economy isn’t strong enough to support anything but a football team. You can’t have a team that plays at home for 41 dates, you just can’t.” - Kornheiser

In referring to the NBA’s position on the issue and its relationship to Hornets owner George Shinn, Kornheiser said,

“Whether you like the owner or not, the owner is one of your partners, you can’t put him in this sort of liability.”

After Kornheiser reaffirmed his 100 percent assertion that the Hornets should move, Wilbon speculated the chances of it happening were at 75 percent. (You click here for the full podcast/download, go directly to the 13th minute to hear the New Orleans conversation).

Nola bloggers have been all over the maneuvering to get the team out of the city despite some recent actions that point to the contrary.

With national media pressure and acknowledgment of the situation, it will make it harder for the city to keep the team and easier for the owners to justify leaving.

You can send an email to PTI to tell them your thoughts on the matter. The more emails on the topic, the better the chances are that it makes it on the show. And aside from going to the games themselves, it could be a powerful way of changing the message.

LOL @ these hack jobs called Korneyheiser and Wilbert. Sitting behind a desk and pretend they know about the economy in New Orleans. LMAO!

The sports media are angry because the history of the Sonics in Seattle are getting ready to go down the drain because their owner sold out to an Okie and their politicos won’t build them an arena. New Orleans and the New Orleans Hornets aren’t to blame for that. The Hornets returned to New Orleans to rebuild just like everyone else. It won’t happen overnight and they have plans in place for the long term. Not 6 games into the season and then give up. Turn your attention elsewhere Kornheiser and Wilbon. Go find out why Indiana, Atlanta, Philly and Charlotte are lacking butts in the seats while you’re at it.

Nba please don’t give up on new Orleans the fans are coming ! After hurricane katrina the nation said that new Orleans should not be rebuilt. We have a not give up on ourselves we are rebuliding!!!! This will not be done in one season though!!
g struggle ahead of us( new Orleans) but having a basketball team is a great past time for the people here. We need the NBA!!! New Orleans overall is nor a football town! After the saints finishing playing you can see the tumble weeds pass by at the training facility! Highschool football suffers a great deal. Attendance overall lacks at UNO, xavier or no, & tulane

Nba don’t give up on us we will prevsil we will show up!!!!!!!!!!!! Seasonbtivjet holder!!!!!

Seems to be a problem here with PTI speaking the truth. NOLA cannot and will not support the Hornets. It’s worse than before Katrina.

Give it up. Everyone knows they should have never left OKC. NOLA will not have a team next year. Bank on it.

The Hornets should leave and the rest of the population needs to also.I mean damn just stay around and wait for the levies to break again.Who the hell wants to live below sea level? “Ok the city is flooded but there is still time for football and basketball ” .Makes no sense
