It seems the bloggers have turned from outrage to drunken joy this week over Eddie Jordan’s resignation. One blogger posted a clip of the Grateful Dead’s performing the track “He’s Gone” to give Jordan a proper sendoff. Another posted the a retro clip of the 1969 hit “Na, na, hey, hey Good-bye.” Others speculated on rumors of what Jordan is getting in exchange for stepping down, like a villa on the French Riviera joked one blogger.

Some simply had life in Louisiana to make them smile, like this hilarious post about a Gonzales Walmart that made some egregious spelling errors on a birthday cake.

Elsewhere, bloggers tackled local issues like the latest building project in Shelley Midura’s district that residents are against. Another blogger talked about how the city is paying more for less when it comes to trash pickup in the city.

The reference was far too oblique, but I was thinking about third world dictators who are often persuaded to leave with an easy retirement, in order to avoid the disorder of a violent ovrthrow. Made me wonder why exactly Eddie Jordan needed to be bought off.
