070207_sigersonmorrison2_a.jpgFashion 101: Fashion normally follows two paths. There’s the “trickle-down theory,” where the top designers such as Galliano, Ford and Lagerfeld set the stage for the season’s trends, and their styles eventually trickle from the runway to high-end stores to Banana Republic down to Target.

On the other side there is a “trickle-up theory,” where designers get their inspiration straight from the streets (imagine Gwen Stefani’s L.A.M.B. line, hip-hop style of the ’80s or even the grunge look in the ’90s).

It looks like the 7th Avenue fashion forecasters and designers were paying attention to “America’s Team” last year when they designed their fall lines with black and gold high heels and accessories.
