Ristorante da Piero (401 Williams Blvd., 469-8585; www.ristorantedapiero.net) is my favorite restaurant in the area for pasta (check out my full review from June). The strozzapreti (literally “priest choker”) pasta is worth a trip to Kenner all on its own.

Look no further than right here on blogofneworleans with two excellent insider updates from David Winkler-Schmit, who brought us the scoop on the Army Corps of Engineers latest blunder and a startling revelation that flew under most people’s radar about a jailhouse murder whose main suspect was unexpectedly released. Both updates were follow ups to previous stories that Winkler-Schmit reported on for Gambit Weekly.

Elsewhere, bloggers take Bobby Jindal to task for for a comment about “outsiders” stirring up issues over the Jena 6 and a potentially erroneous ad he placed in the Louisiana Weekly. One blogger laughs about Bill Jefferson’s latest “bathroom defense” while another takes a picture of a strange worm he found on his deck.
